Applications Due March 23, 2007

Oregon NASA Space Grant is pleased to invite undergraduates and graduate students from our consortium member colleges and universities to apply for summer internships with our local industry partners. These internships enable students to concentrate on research activities that supplement their academic coursework and help to prepare them for careers in NASA-related fields. The NASA Exploration Systems Mission Directorate provides funding for these awards.

Awards:

Internship compensation varies with assignment. Interns will receive a minimum of $6,000.

Eligibility:

The awards are open to juniors, seniors and graduate students in good academic standing who are U.S. citizens and enrolled full time in one of the colleges or universities in the Oregon NASA Space Grant Consortium. These affiliates include the following institutions: Oregon State University, Eastern Oregon University, George Fox University, Lane Community College, Linfield College, Oregon Institute of Technology, Portland Community College – Cascade, Portland Community College - Rock Creek, Portland Community College – Sylvania, Portland State University, Southern Oregon University, University of Oregon, and Western Oregon University.

Please direct your questions regarding eligibility to the Oregon Space Grant office, 541-737-2414, or spacegrant@oregonstate.edu

Application Deadline and Details:

The deadline for applications is March 23, 2007. Applications will be reviewed as received. Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed. Students who are awarded internships will be contacted directly by their employer.

Recipients of internships will be named a Space Grant Scholar. As such, upon completion of the internship you will be expected to present your work in a public exhibit in a poster format (time and place to be determined) and submit a written end-of-project report.
