The 2010-11 OSU Mars Rover Team, funded in part through an OSGC Student Research Award, took third place in this year's University Rover Challenge hosted at the Mars Desert Research Station in Hanksville, Utah. The yearly competition challenges university teams to design and build rovers capable of performing assigned tasks in a Mars analog environment.  The Mars Society, through this event, hopes to spur the interst and skills required to sustain future exploration and habitation of Mars.  A student team from Bialystok University of Technology (Poland) took top honors in this year's competition.
