NASA is currently accepting applications from
undergraduate and graduate level students for 2008 Summer Internship
Opportunities available through Ames
Research Center, Goddard Space Flight Center, Glenn Research Center,
and Marshall Space Flight Center. These internships have a combined
application
form available through the following link:

The deadline for applications is January 15, 2008
at 5:00 p.m. EST.
Funding may be available through your state’s Space Grant
Office or from the
awarding NASA center. This combined application includes the
following internship opportunities:

These internships
are available to US Citizens only (citizens of Puerto Rico,
Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Marianas are considered
U.S.
citizens). The NASA Academy will also consider Permanent U.S. Residents
(i.e. greencard
holders) and has partnered with the European Space Agency (ESA) and
will
consider applicants from the following countries: Austria, Belgium,
Canada,
Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,
Ireland,
Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal,
Romania,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Please review the

Jet Propulsion Labs
(JPL) Center Internships
Applicants must be U.S. citizens
and have a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA. JPL engineers and scientists
will review the resumes and make final selections.
Engineering and science undergraduate students
(rising juniors and seniors) and graduate students are encouraged to
apply.

OSGC 2007 JPL Interns

Johnson Space Center (JSC) Internships
Applicant
Requirements: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited
college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in
Engineering, Science, or Business and available to work at NASA JSC a
minimum of 15 weeks (duration must be acceptable to the organization)
during Spring or Fall semester. A limited number of summer
internships are also available for minimum of 10 weeks. Applicants must
also be US Citizens with
a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Exploration Internships
NASA
Exploration
Internships will provide students Exploration Science Mission
Directorate (ESMD) -relevant work experience in industry or at a NASA
center. Students will be engaged in hands-on engineering projects with
a strong and involved placement mentor. Internships are open to
juniors, seniors and graduate students.
NOTE: Oregon Space Grant will sponsor four (4) students from OSGC
affiliate institutions to attend. Stipends will be for $6,000 direct to
each student including travel funds.

- ESMD Internship eligibility criteria include:
- Must be U.S. Citizen to participate. Proof
of citizenship will be required if selected
- Age 18 or older
- Community college, undergraduate and
graduate students are eligible to apply
- Minimum of 30 credit hours/45 quarter hours
completed
- Minimum GPA of 3.0/4/0
- Enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S.
university, college or community college

The program prepares students for their careers in the Federal
Government.
- NASA
Cooperative Education Program
NASA Cooperative Education Programs are designed to combine academic
studies with on-the-job training and experience and to give students an
opportunity to work at a NASA Field Center while completing their
education.

Internships are paid during the summer, when interns work approximately
40 hours per week, and unpaid the rest of the year, when interns work
approximately 20 hours per week.

The program consists of individualized need-based scholarship or
fellowship programs at 14 minority-serving institutions.

Are designed to combine academic studies with on-the-job training and
experience and to give students an opportunity to work with NASA while
completing their education.

Initiatives in Space Science
The program is designed to encourage minority students (particularly
those of Hawaiian ancestry) to engage in learning about culture and its
relevance to the study of space science.

This is a web site with information on technical research and
internship opportunities available in over 200 private companies,
non-profit organizations, and government-sponsored research centers and
laboratories.
- The Visiting Researcher Exchange and
Outreach Partnership
VREO is a partnership between the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center
Academic Affairs Office and Universities Space Research Association.
The project is designed to stimulate involvement of university, private
sector and government agency researchers with NASA.
