2009 National Space Grant Directors Meeting

The Oregon NASA Space Grant Consoritum is pleased to host the 2009 National Space Grant Directors Meeting.

The meeting will be held October 22-24, 2009 at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower.

Please visit our information page for registration details.

2008 STUDENT SYMPOSIUM

OSGC hosted their second annual Student Symposium on November 14th at the Powell Learning Center / Memorial Union on the OSU Campus. 2008 NASA Student Interns presented an overview of their research during a morning poster session. During the afternoon, students went into additional detail about their work and gave a summary of their NASA experiences during conference research presentations. Both sessions were well attended by students, faculty, family, and administration.

Explorers and Eruptions!- The Volcano World Team (Volcanologist Dr. Shan de Silva and Robert Peckyno) paid a visit to NASA Explorer School Faulconer Chapman in Sheridan this past week to demonstrate the cause and scales of volcanic eruptions. Nearly the whole school turned out for the final liquid nitrogen induced eruption. (For more information about the eruption, click here!)

STEMFEST!- The OSGC 2008 Affiliate Meeting was held in early September at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. With amazing student projects and presentations, including a visit from the award winning OSU Robotics Team, as well as lively discussions about improving STEM education in Oregon, the annual state consortium meeting was a great success.
