Attention students attending an OSGC member institution:
The Oregon NASA Space Grant needs your help…. we need a logo!!!
The Oregon Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) is funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to provide opportunities for college students enrolled in our member institutions, pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) relating to space science and aerospace.
Oregon Space Grant is the face of NASA in Oregon. OSGC is a NASA partner, and we are part of the National Space Grant Program. Each of these entities has their own logo, which we currently use together to represent our program. But…
An effective logo provides insight into an organization and reflects the nature of the business. The logo should quickly and easily convey the general type and purpose of the organization it represents. We are looking for a logo that stands on its own and yet complements both the NASA and National Space Grant logos since all three may sometimes be used in conjunction with one another.
We want our logo to reflect the STEM fields we serve, specifically space science and aerospace related to the vision and mission of NASA, but we also want a logo to reflect what is unique about the state of Oregon.
Here are a few key words and phrases that might inspire you:
Space Science - Aerospace - STEM - STEM Education - Engage - Inspire - Educate - Exploration
NASA - The Face of NASA in Oregon - Rocketry - Night Sky - Astronomy - Oregon - Volcanoes
Mountains - Ocean - Our Mighty Trees - Lighthouses - Waterfalls - Crater Lake - Columbia Gorge - Mt Hood
Students currently enrolled at an OSGC member institution are eligible to participate. Contest is not limited to STEM students; students from all fields of study are invited to submit a logo.
Go to https://spacegrant.oregonstate.edu/members-oregon-nasa-space-grant-consortium to view the complete list of OSGC affiliate member institutions and representatives. You may wish to contact the affiliate representative from your institution to gain additional insight into OSGC programs and vision.
Three finalists will be selected from the entries. Finalists will have an opportunity to modify or tweak their entry based on feedback from the judges. One winning logo will be selected to represent OSGC. The winning designer must provide a full-size, high resolution jpg image of the logo that remains intellectual property of OSGC.
The student with the winning entry will receive a cash prize of $250 and bragging rights!!!
