OreSat Live: Space-Based STEM: Design, Build, and Test of OreSat Live
OreSat Live is a subsystem of the 2U CubeSat Mission, OreSat, with the intent to stream live video of the earth below while the CubeSat is in orbit. OreSat Live works collaboratively with local high schools to build their own functional and affordable handheld ground stations to view the orbital video stream.
This past year, the OreSat team focused on further development of this subsystem: completing the first mechanical prototype of the mounting system, testing the Wi-Fi transmitter, and fabricating the handheld ground station to be the most economical and manageable for high school students. This was completed by an interdisciplinary group working and collaborating with their particular speciality. This system is on track to be complete for a November 2022 handoff.
