From NASA to the National Park Service: How Space Grant Launched Me into Science Communication
Hey everyone! My name is Rosemary Williams, and I am astronomy park ranger with the National Park Service in southern Arizona. The path to this career was everything but straightforward, and started off with two Space Grant funded internships at NASA in 2018 and 2019.
Studying physics and astronomy has led to a lot of awesome opportunities, including writing a Masters dissertation on trails in the Scottish Highlands, working as a Museum Guide in Los Angeles’ Griffith Observatory, and creating an astronomy and poetry night with New Mexico’s Poet Laureate in the middle of the desert. I hope I can inspire you to think outside the box of what is possible in a STEM career and the importance of being an advocate for yourself.
